DescriptionTechnical description: Built in one section, possibly of olive wood. Thumb hole at the back, seven finger holes at the front, none is displaced sideways. There are two vent-holes in the body of the instrument and three in the bell. There is a series of markings to the left of the holes in the body of the instrument, one at the level of each hole. There are two substantial chips from the edge of the bell, and a mark that is possibly a graze at the level of the hole VII. Current ownership: Purchased in 1983 with assistance from the Government's Local Museums Purchase Fund and the University's General Council Trust. (Glen Collection). |
