Description
Technical description: Screw-mechanism, sloped, ivory frog. Frog height: 26.69mm. Frog top length: 49.53mm.
Inscriptions: The finger side is stamped: "FORSTER" upside down. The finger side stamp is 1.52mm high and 11.42mm wide. The thumb side is also stamped "FORSTER" upside down. The thumb side stamp is 1.37mm high and 11.60mm wide, the difference in height being largely due to the fact that the tops of the letters are missing. Handwritten in ink on the bottom of the frog is: "Branded / Forster". The frog is also labelled "Forester" (sic) "cello frog, ferrule cut later".
Ferrule and screw eye missing; There is some corrosion in hole where eye was. |
