Description
Technical description: This screw-mechanism, squared, ebony frog has mother-of-pearl shields, each with a metal ring and a mother-of-pearl eye in the middle, in place of ordinary eyes. The backplate is made of mother-of-pearl. The octagonal ebony button has silver rings, mother-of-pearl dots on the ebony band, and a mother-of-pearl button eye. Overall size: 57.0mm. Frog height: 20.0mm. Frog top length: 38.9mm.
Inscription: Labelled "F25". The following marks are on the top of the frog in front of the screw eye: "\\\".
The ferrule, slide, and heelplate are missing. There is a crack in the front of the top of the frog in the thumb area. The top is chipped, especially on the finger side. There are two tracks inside the frog mortise. The screw eye and screw are corroded. The silver rings are tarnished and one of the mother-of-pearl dots is missing. |
