The bore profile is effectively that of a soprano cornet. Overall size: length 950 with E♭ section; additional length for D section 57; bell 117 Bore: at c 25 from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore), 9.2; expanding in 100mm to c 10.2; distance to valve casing 228, v.t.s. bore 11.4; 20.0mm from bell end, 64.0 Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 9.7 - 9.3: takes cornet mouthpiece Valve type: 3 Périnet valves; bottom sprung. Inscribed on bell "HAWKES & SON / Denman Street / Piccadilly Circus / LONDON / 34273". Inscribed on alternative sections "D" and "E♭". Inscribed on valve stems, casings and bottom caps "1", "2", "3". Inscribed on 2nd valve casing "HAWKES & SON / LONDON / 6". Usable pitch: Plays at Old Philharmonic pitch, but slides allow use at A⁴ 439 Hz.
