Technical description: Stained boxwood with brass keys and a wide (width c|20mm) ivory ferrule at the centre joint. A flat metal ring (probably copper) is screwed into the base of the bell. A flat ring of brass is nailed around the crook well. The instrument is built straight in two sections with no curve or `knee-joint'. The bell flares only slightly and there is no Liebesfus*s. Keymount type: blocks; the upper block forms approximately one third of a raised ring, the lower block is reinforced with brass plates at the hinge piercings giving the effect of a saddle; SATK. Keyhead type: flat, square.
