DescriptionTechnical description: Blackwood with german silver ferrules and keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, bell. Slightly bulbous barrel, a little bit to wide and, considering its different material, probably not original. Upper section: tone-hole for the speaker on the front of the instrument, chimney. Two side trill keys. Barret action: Spectacles enable the side lever for R1 to be used for F₄/C₆ and E♭₄/B♭₅. Very long side throat A♭ lever makes it possible for the player to use L1 (continental fingering) and L2 (English fingering). Simple system with patent C sharp and Barret Action. L0: T; speaker. L1: T; throat A♮, alternative throat A♭. L2: T + spectacle; throat A♭. L3: T + spectacle; cross E♭₄/B♭₅. L4: C♯₄/G♯₅; E₃/B♮₄; F♯₃/C♯₅. R1: T; side F₄/C₆/E₃/B♮₄; two side trill keys for throat A-B♮ and B♭-C. R2: T + spectacle. R3: T + spectacle (forked B♭₃/F♮₅); cross B♭₃/F♮₅ . R4: G♯₃/E♭₅; F₃/C₅. Keymount type: pillars. Keyhead type: modern. Serial number: 3015. Overall size: 655, 584 to top of barrel, 552 to top of upper section. Bore: at C4 hole 14.6, at F3 hole 14.9, lower section tenon 21.3. On lower section stamped sunburst / "JACQUES ALBERT / FILS / BRUXELLES" / (sunburst) . Playing accessories: metal ligature and reed cap With leather case, not fitted. Repair History: Bell seems not to be original. A crack of 48mm is in the upper section through chimney. |
