Technical description: flugelhorn bore profile. Silver plated brass; ligature tuning slide at mouthpipe; water key; the valve bottom caps have D.J. Blaikley's patent water reservoir; no fitting for music card holder.
Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, bottom sprung; alignment by key on piston.
On bell engraved "Bb ALTO / ORPHEON" and stamped "CLASS. A" / "TRADEMARK" and "BOOSEY" within trumpet and banner trademark / "PATENT / COMPENSATING PISTONS / BOOSEY & Co. / MAKERS / 295 REGENT STT / LONDON / 37582 "; on valve top caps and side of valve casings "1", "2", "3"; on side of 2nd valve casing "TRADEMARK" and "BOOSEY" within trumpet and banner trademark / "33569" and "PATENT"; on valve bottom caps "PATENT" and "1", "2" and "3" respectively.
Purchased by lender with and probably used by previous owner with flugel mouthpiece (4502).
