DescriptionTechnical description: The round, concave, pernambuco stick ends in a modern head with an ivory headface. The nipple is very neat. The screw-mechanism, rounded, ebony frog has mother-of-pearl decorative eyes and a mother-of-pearl slide. The ferrule and backplate are nickel. The octagonal ebony button has a mother-of-pearl button eye.
Measurements: Weight: 51g. Hair length: 684mm (measured from ferrule though the ferrule wedge has come out slightly shortening the hair). Balance point: 284mm. Head height: 23.6mm. Head width: 9.7mm. Face length: 22.9mm. Tip diameter: 6.6mm. Frog diameter: 8.35mm. Nipple range: 1.1mm to 1.4mm. Period of oscillation: 1.36. Distance from pivot to tail: 67.8mm. Button length: 15.0mm. Ferrule width: 11.9mm. Frog + stick height: 25.7mm. Frog top length: 41.2mm (approximate as there is a chip missing from it).
Inscriptions: Marked "IIIIVX" inside in front of eye (tip end) "FJ" scratched into thumb side of tip.
The front of the frog is chipped off, especially on the thumb side. There is a crack near the bottom of the frog on the thumb side. The ebony around the slide is chipped. The top of the frog is rough, with its edges chipped off. The metal rings are missing from the button.
