DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated brass; plated inner slides. Wider bell than common model of narrow-bore trombone. According to the firm's archives [instruments books], the instrument was model A16, made in a batch of six. Overall size: 1104; bell 177. Bore: at c 40mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore), 11.1; descending slide, 11.2; ascending slide, 11.2; m.t.s. bore, 13.9 - 15.7. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 12.0 - 11.2. Inscribed "CLASS.B" / trumpet & banner trademark BOOSEY / "BOOSEY & CO / MAKERS / 295 REGENT ST / LONDON / 67544 / C.A.C.". With black drop in case. Usable pitch: Old Philharmonic pitch; tuning-slide can be extended to allow use at A⁴ = 439hz. |
