DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated brass; slides silver-plated with stockings. Repair History: Not originally silver-plated: the present plating apparently done after the instrument had suffered some wear. According to the firm's archives [instruments books], the instrument was model A55, made in a batch of six. Overall size: 1103; bell 152. Bore: at c 40mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 11.3; slides 11.1; m.t.s. 12.3 - 13.2. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 12.2 - 11.4. Stamped on bell "Perfecta / Model / CLASS A" / trumpet and banner trademark incorporating "TRADE MARK" and "BOOSEY" / "BOOSEY & CO. LTD. / MAKERS. LONDON / 121843 / British Throughout". Decorative features: Embossed decoration on ferrules and stay ends; floral embellishment around inscription on bell. With side opening case, not original. Given by donor with and probably formerly used with mouthpieces (4402) and (4403). |
