Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, top sprung by compression spring inside tubular stem; alignment by unequal legs on spring anchor plate. Inscribed on bell "YORK / GRAND RAPIDS / MICHIGAN"; on side of 2nd valve casing and on stems "81458"; on side of valve casings "1", "2", "3". Overall size: 471; bell 96. Sounding length: minimum 1285. Bore: mouthpipe at c 35mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 9.8; m.t.s. at c 214mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning-slide bore 11.0; centre of valve cluster at c 613mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (3, 2, 1) 11.05; at 643mm from bell end, c 11.05; at c 265mm from bell end, 15.6. B = 0.70. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.4 - 10.6. Decoration: Mother of pearl on buttons touch pieces; a stud on each valve tunning slide bow; knurled rings on buttons and valve top caps. |
