DescriptionTechnical description: Rosewood with silver keys. There are three ivory ferrules at the reed well and sockets, there is no bell ring. There is an onion shaped baluster at the top of the instrument. The octave key is hinged at the back within the onion, the vent is at the front (this is similar to (66)). The G♯ key and hole are both on the middle section. There are two vent holes in the bell. There is a slight flange at the base of the bell.

Stamped on the upper section with "WYLDE / 25 VILLIERS ST. / STRAND / LONDON"; on the middle section with "WYLDE / LONDON"; and on the bell with "WYLDE / FROM / RUDALL & ROSE / 25 VILLIERS ST / STRAND / LONDON".
There are three cracks in the bell emanating from the ferrule and all running about half the length of the bell, one of these crosses a vent hole. Keys are missing on the upper section for C, B♭ and B♭-alt. The block mounts for B♭ and B♭-alt are broken off. |
