Technical description: Brass with silver rim; medium rim contour; maximum bite curvature 1.75; intermediate, almost hemispherical, cup shape; maximum throat curvature c 10. Cup volume 1442; shape quotient 1.237. Overall size: length 78.7; external diameter 27.0. Sounding length: cup depth 11; grain length c 8; backbore length c 57. Bore: cup diameter 16.2; minimum diameter 4.3. Depth of taper: shank depth 36.3. Diameter of taper: maximum 13.3; minimum 11.5. No inscriptions. Allocated with, probably formerly used with, probably supplied by manufacturer with and attached by chain to cavalry trumpet in Eb (994).
