Description3 valves. Technical description: Silver-plated brass, plating mostly worn off; water-key; fitting for music card holder (unusual drop-in socket). Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, top sprung. Overall size: 600; bell 145. Sounding length: minimum 2648 (long tuning slides on 1st & 3rd valves, circa 90mm and 70mm travel respectively.) Bore: mouthpipe at c 40mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 10.5; first m.t.s. at c 868mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 11.55; second m.t.s. at c 1280mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 11.45; centre of valve cluster at c 1745mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (3,2,1) 11.6; at c 319mm from bell end, 16.2; at 21.0mm from bell end, 72.3. B = 0.75. Bell cutoff = 1300 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 10.9 - 10.6, i.e. little taper. Inscribed on bell "DITTA / PROF / ROMEO / ORSI / MILANO"; on side of valve casings "16", "17", "18". Decorative features: mother of pearl buttons; foliage decoration around inscription on bell. Alignment key missing from 2nd valve piston. |
