DescriptionTechnical description: Rosewood with silver keys. Sockets and reed well lined with silver. Second octave key is a lever, although the only other levers are the C and B♭ keys. The L2 ring and the L1 pierced-plate are connected to a hole between L1 and L2 which is closed by either or both of these touches; this enables a forked C to be played (with just L2 plus some right hand fingers to `focus' the tone) while still keeping the open C♯ in tune. System: Simple L0: 8.1. L1: PP; 8.2. L2: R. L3: TT; C♯tr. L4: G♯; low B; E♭-alt. R0: sup. R1: T; B♭; C. R2: R. R3: R; F. R4: low C; C♯; E♭ Stamped on all three sections with barbican with three merlons / "TRIEBERT / A PARIS". Usuable pitch: A4 = 435 Hz Performance characteristics: a clear, warm tone quality with good attack and reasonable intonation. |
