DescriptionTechnical description: Brass with applied silver rim; medium rim contour; maximum bite curvature 1.75; funnel cup shape with smoothly blended throat. Cup volume 1865; shape quotient 1.266. Overall size: length 60.9; external diameter 26.0. Sounding length: cup depth c 16. Bore: cup diameter 16.3; minimum diameter 4.5. Depth of taper: shank depth 30.5. Diameter of taper: maximum 10.4; minimum 8.9. Stamped on side of cup "ANTOINE / COURTOIS / 88 R. DES MARAIS ST MARTIN / PARIS". Purchased by lender with, probably formerly used with and possibly supplied by manufacturer with cornet in Bb etc (3475).
