DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated brass; plated inner slides. Ligature bell joint. According to the firm's archives [instruments books], the instrument was model T, made in a batch of six. Overall size: 1099; bell 159. Bore: at c 55mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore), 11.3; (apparently contracting c 250mm from mouthpiece receiver); descending slide, 10.5; ascending slide, 10.7; m.t.s. bore, 12.0 - 14.6. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.8 - 11.4. Inscribed on bell "Artists' Perfected" / hawk & trumpet trademark / "Boosey & Hawkes / Ltd / Makers / 295 Regent St / London W1 / 150545"; on back of bell "PLATED BY BOOSEY & HAWKES LTD". Decorative features: Floral engraving on bell; embellished ferrules, stay mounts and bow guards. Playing accessories: Balance weight (Salvation Army). With case, not original.
