DescriptionThis boxwood oboe has silver keys, and a cylindrical reed well lined with German silver which is almost certainly a later addition. There is an onion-shaped balaster at the top of the instrument and an (ornamental) fish-tail touchpiece despite there being no third key. The keyheads are flat and the inwardly curving edges of the octagonal keys produces an attractive star effect. The springs are missing from both keys. Technical description: Boxwood with silver keys.
