DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated brass; inner slides silver-plated with copper-plated stockings. Music card-holder fitting on inner slide H-piece. Repair History: Converted to low pitch by lengthening tuning-slide; restored to high pitch 1989-90. According to the firm's archives [instruments books], the instrument was model A55, made in a batch of six. Overall size: 1095; bell 150. Bore: at c 50mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore), 11.2; descending slide, 11.3; ascending slide, 11.3; m.t.s. bore, 12.2 - 13.2. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.9 - 11.4. Inscribed on bell "Perfecta / Model / CLASS A" / trumpet & banner trademark / "BOOSEY & CO / MAKERS. LONDON / 121004 / British Throughout"; on joint above slide "BOOSEY & CO / 121004"; on slide "121004". Decorative features: Floral engraving on bell, stay mounts and ferrules. Usable pitch: Old Philharmonic pitch. With black drop in case (Hawkes?). |
