Six pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, middle section for the fingers of the right hand, lower section with keys, bell. Barrel waisted to receive a long tenon. Levers for L4, tone-hole and key for R4 mounted in a bell-shaped swelling. Keys with bevelled disc covers. All tone-hole under covers lined with brass: James Wood's patent. Side trill key mounted on a saddle. Zig-zag G♯₃/E♭₅. Now 6 keys.
