DescriptionTechnical description: Silver-plated brass; tall bell-up wrap. With extension pieces for main tuning-slide, giving additional length of 38mm in each leg. Valve type: 3 side-action rotary valves, cork buffers on rotors.
Repair History: Touchpiece of 2nd valve broken and replaced (not plated). Main tuning-slide extension pieces probably not original (not plated). Milled screw missing from top of 1st valve rotor. Presumed hook for right hand thumb missing.
Overall size: 649; bell 168.
Sounding length: minimum 2046 including main tuning slide extension pieces which contribute 76mm.
Bore: mouthpipe at c 30mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 10.4; centre of valve cluster at c 252mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (1,2,3) 12.4; m.t.s. at c 420mm and at c 568mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 12.4; 1023mm from bell end, c 13.0; c 713mm from bell end, 18.4.
