Technical description: Brass. `Modèle français', with the valves positioned to the left of both mouthpipe and bellpipe. `Tuning-bell' model: mouthpipe enters 1st valve casing at the right; bellpipe exits 3rd valve casing at the right; main tuning-slide placed between 3rd valve and bell. With single water-key; fitting for music card-holder. With shanks for B♭ and A and crook for A♭. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, top-sprung with spring outside stem; alignment by key on piston. Repair History: Water-key a replacement; shanks (a) and (b) do not quite match, (a) and crook (c) have similar plain grooves on the ferrules but the internal tapers are quite different; it is not clear which are replacements.
