Technical description: Silver-plated; medium rim contour; maximum bite curvature 2.5; funnel, almost conical cup shape; maximum throat curvature c 16. Cup volume 2602; shape quotient 1.223. Overall size: length 67.9; external diameter 30.3. Sounding length: cup depth 20. Bore: cup diameter 18.2; minimum diameter 4.4. Depth of taper: shank depth 33.3. Diameter of taper: maximum 11.8; minimum 10.0. Stamped on side of cup "Besson / Prototype / TH"; at top of shank "MADE IN ENGLAND". Given with alto trombone in Eb (1556).
