Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, top sprung with compression spring inside hollow stem; alignment by unequal ends on spring anchor bar. Overall size: 964; bell 204. Bore: at distal end of ligature tuning-slide 10.3; m.t.s. 12.2; v.t.s. 12.2; proximal end of ligature tuning-slide at bell section joint 12.2. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.4 - 10.5. Inscribed on side of 2nd valve casing "1688"; on side of valve casings "1", "2", "3"; circular embossed silver-plated on bell with castle and foliage motifs and "ALEXANDER/MAINZ" within ribbons. With original fitted hard case, covered in black imitation leather. Purchased by lender with and probably supplied by maker with trumpet mouthpiece (4528). Previous ownership: ex- Don Lock collection, purchased by Lock from the estate of Norman D'Ath in 1975. |
