Technical description: Silver-plated brass; medium rim contour; maximum bite curvature 1.5; deep intermediate, almost conical, cup shape; maximum throat curvature c 15. Cup volume 2762; shape quotient 1.080. Overall size : length 67.0; external diameter 26.8. Sounding length: cup depth c 25; grain length 0. Bore: cup diameter 17.2; minimum diameter 4.5 at c 26. Depth of taper: shank depth c 23. Diameter of taper: maximum 8.4; minimum 8.6. Stamped on side of cup "B & S" within ellipse, and "9/3". Purchased by lender with and possible formerly used with french horn (4219).
