DescriptionTechnical description: Light wood, varnished; 2 sections; ivory ferrule; wooden block; broad flat windway; 7 finger-holes plus thumb-hole; large finger-holes for R2, R3 and R4; L1 finger-hole slightly offset; short, cork-lapped tenon. English fingerings. Performance characteristics: Built in imitation of a Renaissance recorder, the instrument plays with English fingering although there is a marked difference in pitch between alternative fingerings for both middle register E♭ and F♯. Usable pitch: Sounding A⁴ = c 443 Hz (c 10 cents above 440 Hz). |
