Inscribed on bell "CLASS / A" / "50 MEDALS OF HONOUR" within banner / monogram FB / "BESSON & CO / Prototype / 198 EUSTON ROAD / LONDON" / five pointed star; on sides of valve casings "1", "2", "3" / "BESSON & CO / BREVETE" within ellipse / "80401". (Unusual in having trademark and serial number on 3rd rather than 2nd valve). Decorative features: Floral embellishment around inscription on bell. One stay missing; some dents and leaks. Usable pitch: Old Philharmonic pitch. Purchased by lender with and probably formerly used with mouthpiece (825). |
