DescriptionTechnical description: The round, concave, varnished (?) pernambuco (?) stick has a leather grip and copper winding and ends in a modern head with an ivory headface. The screw-mechanism, squared, frog is made of a dark brown wood and has a nickel ferrule with a wood ferrule wedge, mother-of-pearl decorative eyes, a mother-of-pearl slide, and a metal underslide. The ebony button has nickel rings and a mother-of-pearl button eye and is octagonal with a rim. Measurements: Weight: 62g. Hair length: 647mm. Balance point: 277mm. Head height: 24.0mm. Head width: 9.2mm. Face length: 23.4mm. Tip diameter: 6.8mm. Frog diameter: 9.15mm (measured at 200mm to avoid grip and winding). Nipple range: 0.75 to 1.0. Period of oscillation: 1.36. Distance from pivot to tail: 71.5mm. Button length: 16.3mm. Ferrule width: 12.9mm. Frog + stick height: 27.1mm. Frog top length: 44.3mm. No inscriptions. The stick has some scratches and is slightly worn at the frog. The thumb side decorative eye is cracked. General usage of type: Trade bow. Lent with and possible formerly used with viola (772).
