DescriptionTechnical description: A Germanised version of the Uhlmann Viennese design of the 3 double-piston valve horn, in which tuning-slide points vertically downwards in playing position rather than horizontally as here. Yellow brass body and valves; German silver valve touches, spring casing, ferrules, stay plates and garland (width 40mm).
Metal construction: spun bell (depth 75mm) seamed onto bell taper; tubing seamed. With French pattern A crook.
Valve type: 3 Wiener Pumpen double piston valves.
Repair History: Crook not original.
Performance characteristics: Characteristically broad sound.
Lent with but probably not formerly used with mouthpiece (2156). |
