Technical description: Gold-plated brass. semi-round rim contour; maximum bite curvature 1.75; deep almost conical cup shape; smoothly blended throat.Cup volume 2375; shape quotient 1.155. Overall size: length 58.8; external diameter 26.8. Sounding length: cup depth c 29. Bore: cup diameter 16.5; minimum diameter 4.5. Depth of taper: shank depth 27.3. Diameter of taper: maximum 10.7; minimum 9.5. Stamped "DENIS WICK. LONDON" and "4F" round side of cup. General literature references: Described in maker's brochure as `very deep cup; gives a particularly rich and beautiful sound to the flugelhorn not found in any other make; made for European flugelhorns; open backbore'.
