R4: D♯. Keymount type: knob. Keyhead type: round for C, D♯, [G♯ and F], slightly curved to fit body; flat square for B♭. Repair History: A ferrule may have been removed from upper body and tenon shortened, to raise pitch of instrument. Stamped "Wood & Ivy" (in script) / "LATE / Geoe. Wood" (in script) / "LONDON / F", with a [lyre] at top and bottom of body. Performance characteristics: [Original range D⁴ - A⁶ (sounding F⁵ - C⁸)]; very few notes playable in present condition. Usable pitch: Sounding A⁴ c 438 Hz. |
