DescriptionTechnical description: Boxwood with ivory ferrules and brass keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, bell. Zig-zag speaker with chimney on front of the instrument. End pivoted F₃/C₅ key. Was 13 now 12 keys. L0: T; speaker. L1: T; throat A♮; throat A♭. L2: T. L3: T; E♭₄/B♭₅. L4: C♯₄/G♯₅; E₃/B♮₄; F♯₃/C♯₅. R1: T; side F₄/C₆; side trill key for throat A-B♮ and B♭-C. R2: T. R3: T; B♭₃/F♮₅; side B♮₃/F♯₅. R4: F₃/C₅; G♯₃/E♭₅. Keymount type: pillars on plates. Keyhead type: salt spoon. Condition: Mouthpiece missing. Repair History: The C♯₄/G♯₅ key has been removed or lost, and its tone-hole filled. The case for this instrument was a gift from Tony Bingham, London; it had housed another, slightly later C clarinet by Lefèvre. Specific literature references: Restle and Fricke 2004, p.103.
