Technical description: Copper with brass bell garland, mounts and keys. Two coils, the first a loop, the second elongated as usual for bugles. Keyhead type: flat round. Inscribed on bell "Royal Patent Bugle / No 70"; on bell garland "WILLM SANDBACH / Sole Maker & Inventor / 40 Percy St. Rathbone Place / LONDON". Mouthpipe broken; pads missing; pivot missing on key nearest mouthpiece. Purchased by lender with and possibly formerly used with mouthpiece (3238). |
