DescriptionTechnical description: Body cocus; head silver [plate] with [imitation] ivory embouchure-plate screwed on; 2 sections; reform embouchure with rectangular-oval embouchure-hole; silver foot ferrule and cap; cork-lapped metal tenon. Boehm 1847 system fingering except for:- L0: B(TT); Br B♭. L3: G. L4: G♯. R0:, R1: F; dup B♭; D trill. R2: E (linked to G♯ tonehole cover to create `split E'); D♯ trill. Keymount type: rod/pillar, with needle springs, Keyhead type: cylinder cup. Overall 314 mm Sounding Length: embouchure to foot, 265 mm Bore: conical Stamped "PHILIPP HAMMIG / MARKNEUKIRCHEN/SA / 11125", and on back of body "MADE IN GDR". In original brown platic-covered hard case, lined with red velvet; with metal cleaning rod, plastic tenon cover and soft plastic case cover Performance characteristics: Range D⁴ - C⁷ (sounding D⁵ - C⁸). Speaks easily throughout, except top two notes. Usable pitch: Sounding A⁴ = c 441 Hz (head length 124mm, cork at 9mm from embouchure centre); intended to be played at International Standard pitch (A⁴ = 440 Hz). |
