DescriptionTechnical description: Brass; ligature fitting on bell section at joint; stockings on main slides. Bell with one coil, angled to face forwards. Decorative features: Painted dragon's head bell, with coiled forked tongue bell stay underneath head. Usable pitch: Plays c 50 cents above A⁴ = 440 Hz with mouthpiece (3100). Repair History: Main slide possibly not original (tenon of slide section of joint is tapered, bell section joint for cylindrical tenon). No inscriptions. Overall size; 1200. Bore: at mouthpiece receiver 11.4; descending slide, 11.3; ascending alide, 11.5; joint, 11.5. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.4 (not tapered) Crack in main bow. Ligature screw missing. Main slide possibly not original (tenon of slide section of joint is tapered, bell section joint for cylindrical tenon).
