Technical description: Boxwood with ivory ferrules and brass keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, bell. Ivory mouthpiece is a contemporary replacement, grooved for cord. Waisted barrel stamped Goulding & Co. All tone-holes under keys and thumb-hole lined with brass. 4 levers on upper section lined with brass. 3 cross keys in blocks, 3 keys in saddles. Additional side B♮₃/F♯₅. Levers for L4, tone-hole and key for R4 mounted in a bell-shaped swelling.

Keyhead type: flat round.
Keymount type: blocks, swelling, saddles.
Inscribed on both sections 22 / KEY / LONDON" / unicorn head; on bell " 2 / KEY / LONDON" / unicorn head / "CHARING CROSS"
Throat A♭ key is missing, tone-hole closed.
