DescriptionTechnical description: Polymethyl methacrylate with aluminium hydroxide; one-piece construction; 6 finger-holes plus thumb-hole; brass key for lowest tone-hole, under fontanelle; removable fontanelle has protective brass inlay at each end; double (butterfly) keytouch; curved windway; sloping lip as on original (3921), giving irregular shape to window; finger-hole edges slightly rough; block set slightly low in window as on original. Keyhead type: flat round, open-standing, under fontanelle. Repair History: The size of several finger-holes has been adjusted. Stamped with fleur de lis marking. Performance characteristics: Very heavy to hold. Usable pitch: A⁴ = c 434 Hz (c 25 cents below A⁴ = 440 Hz). Renaissance fingering Copy of Bassano recorder 3921 |
