According to the firm's archives [instruments books], the instrument was model B4039, made in a batch of thirteen. Overall size: 1104; bell 159. Bore: at c 40mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 10.6; descending slide 11.3; ascending slide 11.3; m.t.s. bore 12.2 - 13.1. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 12.0 - 11.2. Inscribed on bell "Imperial / MADE BY / Boosey & Hawkes Ltd / LONDON"; on bell section beside last stay "174981 / MADE IN ENGLAND". Decorative features: Embossed embellishment on stay ends and bow guard. Black leather hard case, end opening, probably original; embossed paper label inside lid with trademark: "BOOSEY / and / HAWKES" superimposed on world globe from which streams a ribbon with a musical note. |
