DescriptionTechnical description: English Concertina. Hexagonal wooden ends with thumb and little finger rests. Fully chromatic compass with a range of three octaves and a tone, C₄ to D₆. 32 buttons, 16 to each hand, all the flats being on one hand and the sharps on the other. Over the two octaves covered by the buttons, the left hand has the low G♯ and the high D♯ and A♭. The right hand has the low D♯ and A♭ and high G♯. Serial number: 2150. Decoration: Bellow covered in green leather and white and gold paper. Usable pitch: A₄ = 445 Hz. Signature/Marks: On paper label inset on right hand end, "BY HER MAJESTY'S LETTER PATENT / C. WHEATSTONE, / Inventor, / 20 Co[---] Regent St / LONDON". With own wooden case with red velvet interior and lock with mother of pearl inlay. Handle missing. |
