Named Heckel-mouthpiece, grooved for cord. Patent B♭ mechanism: speaker key alone opens twin hole (two chimneys), when depressed with throat A key two extra vents are opened. Connection between both keys also closes one vent when only throat A is depressed. Rings on R1 and R2 close vent just above R1. Plate on thumb-hole. Basset keys under fontanelles. 18 keys, 4 rings. 1 plate.
