DescriptionTechnical description: Boxwood; 4 sections; silver keys; 4 ivory ferrules plus cap; graduated screw-stopper (no tuning-slide); slightly oval embouchure-hole; overlapping low C/C♯ touches; head is of slightly lighter wood but fits well. Keymount type: ring/knob, with brass-lined channels. Keyhead type: pewter plug, with metal-lined key-holes. Head: stamped "BAINBRIDGE / & WOOD / LONDON". Upper and lower bodies and foot: stamped "GOULDING & CO.". Foot also stamped with crown. Overall size: 661mm Sounding length: embouchure to foot, 586mm Bore: conical Performance characteristics: Range C⁴ - A⁶. Usable pitch: A⁴ c 429 Hz. |
