Technical description: Brass. Ligature tuning at mouthpipe; orientation adjustment by this and a second ligature fitting at right angles. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves.
Overall size: 992; bell 280.
Bore: m.t.s. and v.t.s. (3,2,1) 14.6.
Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 14.1 - 13.9 (ligature fitting).
Inscribed on applied cast brass medallion on bell "GEORGE POTTER & COMPY." in circular belt around lion and unicorn motif, surmounted by crown, and "ALDERSHOT" within banner underneath. Inscribed on side of valve casings "1", "2", "3". Inscribed (crudely) on lower bow guard "R W".
Thumbscrew missing from mouthpiece receiver ligature fitting.
Usable pitch: In present condition, plays just over A4 = 440 Hz; tuning slide allows use at A4 = 440 Hz.
