DescriptionTechnical description: Brass with silver rim; shank grooved to hold cord; semi-flat rim contour; maximum bite curvature 0.75; hemispherical cup shape; sharp-edged throat. Cup volume 8668; shape quotient 1.598. Overall size: length 50.5; external diameter 40.3. Sounding length: cup depth 17.5. Bore: cup diameter 29.4; minimum diameter 6.4. Depth of taper: shank depth 20. Diameter of taper: Cord lapping at top of shank; minimum 13.2. No inscriptions. Probably purchased with and possibly formerly used with serpent in C (191).
