Description3 valves. Technical description: brass; ligature fixing at joint; fitting for music card holder; water-key on m.t.s. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, bottom sprung; alignment by key on piston. According to the donor, made by Thibouville Lamy who supplied the cheaper instruments for the Salvation Army. Overall size: 953; bell 191. Sounding length: minimum 3131. Bore: mouthpipe at c 35mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 10.7; m.t.s. at c 495mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bore 12.95; centre of valve cluster at c 1335mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (1,2,3) 12.95; at 1566mm from bell end, c 13.4; at c 734mm from bell end, 18.95; at 25.9mm from bell end, 116.0. B = 0.62. Bell cutoff = 800 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 12.0 - 11.1. Inscribed on bell "Endurance Class" / Salvation Army emblem with motto "BLOOD AND FIRE" and on ribbon beneath: "THE SALVATION ARMY" / SALVATIONIST PUBLISHING / & SUPPLIES Ltd. / JUDD St. / KINGS CROSS / LONDON / WC.1. / MADE IN FRANCE"; on side of valve casings "16", "17", "18".
