Bore: mouthpipe at c 65mm from mouthpiece receiver (minimum bore) 10.0; centre of valve cluster at c 158mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (1,2,3) 10.6; m.t.s. at c 696mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bores 10.55 10.8; at 842mm from bell end, c 10.8; at c 423mm from bell end, 15.25; at 19.6mm from bell end, 75.8. B = 0.70. Bell cutoff = 1200 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 11.2 - 10.5. Inscribed on shield on bell "Joh. Michl & Sohn", lyre in wreath design, "GEGR 1870 / GRASLITZ / BÖHMEN". Inscribed on valve casings "12". Possible alternative Eb alternative tuning slide missing. Usable pitch: Plays c 140 cents above A⁴ = 440 Hz; pulling main tuning-slide 50mm lowers pitch to 55 cents above A⁴ = 440 Hz. |
