Metal construction: yellow brass; seamed bell segment with gusseted bell, wired bell rim. no garland; cylindrical parts and mouthpipe of drawn tube. With F crook only.
Valve type: 3 rotary valves of standard pattern. 3rd rotor lever screw missing. Main tube unsoldered between valves 1 and 2.
Signature marks: Inscribed on bell "Friedrich Schlott / Gahlis Leipzig" and illegible stamp with crown and "...W.". Inscribed on valves "6", "5", "4".
Usable pitch: Plays at A4 = 440 Hz with tuning-slide pulled out 20mm.
Performance characteristics: Slightly stuffy sound. |
