Description4 valves. Technical description: Brass; german silver stay mounts and one bell section ferrule. Angled layout; adjustable angled mouthpipe; angled adjustable pipe between body of instrument and bell section; loop in bell section. Length of shorter leg of tuning-slide 130mm, allowing increase of air column length by nearly 260mm. Valve type: 4 rotary valves in line. Overall size: Length along valve section 1230; length along bell section 590; bell diameter 250. Sounding length: minimum 5505. Bore: at 10mm from mouthpiece receiver, minimum bore c 13.0; local obstruction at 34mm from mouthpiece receiver to minimum bore 12.9; distal end of shank, 100 mm from mouthpiece receiver, bore 13.9; m.t.s. at c 617mm from mouthpiece receiver, tuning slide bores 17.5 18.1; centre of valve cluster at c 1628mm from mouthpiece receiver, v.t.s. bore (4,3,2,1) 18.3; at 2753mm from bell end, c 18.3; at c 814mm from bell end, 25.9; at 30.3mm from bell end, 141.6. B = 0.60. Bell cutoff = 800 Hz. Dia of mouthpiece receiver: m.r.t. 13.2 tapering over 10mm to c 13.0. Usable pitch: Plays at A⁴ = 435-440 Hz. Inscribed on bell "W. STOWASSER'S SÖHNE / PREMIATA E PRIVILEGIATA FABRICA / DI ISTRUMENTI MUSICALI / CENTRALE GRASLITZ CZECOSLOVACCHIA / FILIALE VERONA ITALIA / VIA S. EUFEMIA 25" and "TRADE MARK" with eagle trade mark.
