DescriptionTechnical description: Unfretted clavichord. Compass 61 notes F₁ - F₆ [FF - f''']. Double strung in brass. 2 sets of strings at 8-ft pitch, with a third at 4-ft pitch (F₁-C₃). The case is of Oregon pine. String lengths: F₆ 100, C₆ 133, F₅ 208, C₅ 282, F₄ 423, C₄ 568, F₃ 826, C₃ 1011, F₂ 1208, C₂ 1321, F₁ 1462. Repair History: Re-strung by J.J.K. Rhodes and W.R. Thomas in 1952-53; re-strung by John Barnes in 1986-87. |
