DescriptionTechnical description: Brass body and keywork. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, lower section, bell. Instrument unfinished. Most tone holes not drilled out. Several keys missing. Only 5 keys or part keys fitted. L0: T; speaker. L1: T; throat A♮. L2: T. L3: T. L4: (E₃/B♮₄; F♯₃/C♯₅, levers missing). R1: T; trill key for throat A-B♮ and B♭-C. R2: T. R3: T. R4: T; G♯₃/E♭₅. Keyhead type: saltspoon and modern. Keymount type: metal saddles. Dents in the bell. Saltspoon hinge key for E/B♮, but no lever. Mouthpiece and barrel missing. Conservation treatment of metal surface by Scottish Museums Council, 1989.
