DescriptionTechnical description: Bookmatched soundboard of spruce. Bridge of rosewood with separate saddle. Bridge pins of ivory. Total length of bridge 145, and total width 27.5. Soundhole 76mm diameter. Purfling around soundhole of alternate strips of walnut (4 strips) and maple (3 strips). No purfling at the edge of the soundboard. Back and sides of figured maple. The sides are not bookmatched. They meet at the bottom where there is a filled gap. One piece back, veneered onto a spruce core. The figure is close and deep. The heel, neck and head are of plain maple. The neck and head are of the same wood, and are jointed in the centre lengthways. The heel and neck meet at a sharp angle, and the neck flows smoothly into the head. Metal machine heads with ivory buttons. The nut is of ivory. The fingerboard is of figured maple, and is glued to the top surface of the soundboard. The neck is 304mm long, 41mm wide at the nut and 52mm wide at the body join. The total length of the fingerboard is 406 in the centre. There were 17 frets.
